Two males have been arrested in Chiswick in connection with a knifepoint robbery.

The incident happened near Turnham Green underground station on Thursday 27 December.

Police said the arrest was made by the Rapid Response team.

A statement said, "Police were called around 17.30 hours on Thursday, December 27th, to a robbery near Turnham Green Underground Station.

"Officers attended the scene and a short time later they arrested two male youths on Chiswick High Road. One of the males was in possession of a knife.

"Both males have been taken into custody at a west London police station. "

Supt Gary Taylor told the public meeting on crime two weeks ago that highly trained officers were working in the Chiswick area to identify suspects, following the recent increase in crime and muggings.
