A 17-year old male has been fined and ordered to attend a Youth Offending panel after being found in possession of a large hunting knife in Chiswick.

Officers from the West Areas Operation Wolverine team were on patrol in Chiswick at the end 2018 when they approached a him and attempted to speak to him.

On seeing them, the youth decided to try and outrun the officers and made an attempt at discarding what was later discovered to be a large hunting knife whilst running across Turnham Green. The officers soon caught up with him and recovered the knife, taking them both to a police station where he was subsequently charge with possession of a pointed/bladed article.

On 22 January the teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, pleaded guilty at Ealing Youth Court and was sentenced on 12f February to attend Richmond Youth Offending Panel and ordered to pay a total of £105.
