A family from Heston are appealing for help in tracing 27-year-old Mohammed Shar Subhani also known as Shah Khan who has been missing since 7 May.

He has not been seen since he went to collect some money at a bank on Hounslow High Street at 12.30pm and the last signal on his mobile phone gave his location as being in Chiswick. The phone was switched off on Tuesday night.

The family believe that the Heathrow Airport worker may have been kidnapped and taken to Chiswick. His brother told the MyLondon web site, 'There has been a lot of kidnappings in the area recently and we think he could have been taken for ransom.

'He is a big lad, goes to the gym, and I think they may have put him into a car or something and in a struggle stabbed him. They then may have panicked and hid his body somewhere.”

His family says he is not a trouble maker and tells his mother where he is all the time so it is very out of character for him not to be in touch.

He is 5’7 tall with a scar on the back of his head and a beauty spot on his right eye.

Officers are working to establish the exact circumstances of Mohammed’s disappearance.

DS Jaspal Bains from West Area CID said: “Mohammed’s disappearance is out of character. I would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts or movements to call police. He was last seen wearing he was last seen wearing dark trousers, a white t-shirt and jacket. While at this stage there is no evidence to suggest he has come to harm, officers retain an open mind as to the circumstances.”

Anyone with information about Mohammed’s whereabouts or disappearance is asked to call West Area CID on 07825 114 094 quoting ref: 19MIS017114 or Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111
