Jonty Bravery, (pictured above) who has turned 18 and can now be named, is accused of the attempted murder of a six-year-old child who was thrown from a balcony at the gallery while visiting there with his parents.

Previous Mr Bravery was classed as a minor, as he was 17 at the time he was charged in August and therefore had not been named as the suspect. He has a previous address in the Parsons Green area.

The victim, a French national who was visiting London with his family, is conscious but cannot yet move or speak, having suffered a fractured spine and a deep bleed to the brain. He was thrown from a 10th floor viewing platform and fell five floors.

The family have issued a statement saying that he "keeps on smiling and making progress bravely", but struggles"to speak, to eat or to move his body".

"We see his efforts. We believe with all our heart that he will find the way, from his head, to do everything again.

"He is very brave. He keeps on smiling and reacting to our jokes."

An application was made to continue the anonymity given to Mr Bravery, but that was declined this Tuesday at the Old Bailey, by Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC,

Mr Bravery is due to appear at a plea hearing in November.
