25-year-old Samuel Sheridan, of Crane Avenue, Isleworth has been jailed after pleading guilty to assault by beating and common assault

Uxbridge Magistrates Court heard that on Friday, 1 February 2019, the police were called to a domestic assault involving a female. Sheridan had made off prior to police arrival. The female victim was still on scene and was very upset by the incident. She did not engage with police and would only gave her first name.

Enquiries via the CCTV revealed that she had been assaulted by being punched and kicked by Sheridan.

On Friday, 20 December, Sheridan was sentenced to 18 weeks imprisonment. A restraining order was also made for the defendant for two years. £115 surcharge to fund victim services.

Detective Constable Mark Palmer, West Area Basic Command Unit Safeguarding Team said - “This matter has had an impact on the victim and the community, especially those who witnessed this horrific incident. The police will not tolerate domestic abuse. If you are a victim of domestic abuse, please don't suffer in silence, speak to us”
