A man and a woman have been arrested after the discovery of a body of a woman in Chiswick this Monday (16 October).

The police say the 48-year-old was found unresponsive inside the property on Magnolia Road near Strand on the Green at 3:15pm and pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is being treated as ‘unexpected’ which means that police have not yet determined that a crime has been committed.

It is understood that the arrests of a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman at the same address were made on suspicion of offences not connected to the death but relating to drugs.

Unconfirmed reports say that the woman arrested is the daughter of the deceased and that the pair arrested are in a relationship and lived at the address where the body was found.

The two have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers remained at the property all through the day following the discovery of the body to make further enquiries to establish the circumstances of the death.

Last month, a woman named locally as Rachel, was found dead in a shop doorway on Devonshire Road. The police say they are treating the death as not being suspicious.
