Police appealing for information in relation to a callous attack on an elderly woman on Tuesday 9th August at 5.15pm.

The incident took place in Burlington Gardens which is off Sutton Court Road near the junctions with Wavendon Avenue and Barrowgate Road.

A male youth came up behind an 83 year old woman and kicked away her walking stick. He then ran off with her bag.

A member of the public heard a loud scream and the victim was discovered with a wound on her forehead. She was taken to hospital where it was discovered that she was suffering from a broken wrist.

The suspect is described as aged around 16 years and wearing a stone coloured t-shirt with shorts.
