A 78 year old lady became the victim of burglary whilst she slept in her arm chair.

The incident happened on Thursday 20th July between 21.00 and 23.30 after the victim fell asleep in a chair in the living room of her ground floor flat on Addison Grove.

When she awoke, she went into her bedroom and saw that someone had climbed through the window and stolen £50 cash from her chest of drawers.

A spokesperson for Chiswick Police said "This is a general warning about leaving windows open, especially in ground floor premises. There have been other similar burglaries across Hounslow Borough."
