A 67 year old Chiswick man has admitted in court to an assault on a local gallery owner. William Harte of Nicholas Court on Corney Reach Way believed that the proprietor of the Thomas Kinkade gallery on Chiswick High Road was having an affair with his ex-wife.

Felix Quinn, aged 52, who owns the outlet in Chiswick as well as the one in the Bluewater Shopping Complex, was taking a delivery outside the Chiswick store when Harte approached him asking where his ex-wife was.

At that point he then attacked Mr. Quinn with a pick-axe handle hitting him twice over the head. Mr. Quinn suffered minor injuries and was able to punch Mr. Harte who continued to hurl abuse at him and threatened to shoot him. Mr. Quinn then detained his assailant until the arrival of the police but two pictures worth £4,000 were damaged as they struggled.

William Harte was given a conditional discharge on account of his age and told to pay costs.
