The Police in Chiswick

Two men on a motorbike, believed to be armed with a sub-machine gun, snatched a box of cash from a security guard last Tuesday (October 7th).

The incident took place at around noon at the HSBC branch which is on the junction of Goldhawk Road and Chiswick High Road

Police were on the scene within 7 minutes but the robbers had escaped north up the Goldhawk Road. They abandoned the empty cash box in the Stamford Brook area. The two men were wearing helmets and dark clothes and have been described as stocky.

If you witnessed any part of the robbery you are asked to contact DC Davies of the Barnes Flying Squad on 020 8247 7932.

The robbery follows close on the heels of a raid by armed men on Marks and Spencers in the High Road. Three men have been charged with robbery and firearms offences. Martin Stevenson, Michael Pereira-Finn and Daniel Swary all aged 19 from Acton will appear in court later this month.
