Local police recovered a valuable bicycle after its owner spotted the frame for sale on Ebay.

The bike, a Marin worth £1,100, was stolen back in July from a bike rack at Sainsburys.

Soon after the cycle's owner believed he spotted his missing frame for sale on ebay and contacted police.

PC Cliff Davies was able to obtain details of the seller from Ebay's fraud department and obtained a search warrant.

Officers from Turnham Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team carried out a search at an address in Hammersmith and recovered the stolen bike, which had been broken down into component parts.

The officers also recovered two further specialized mountain bikes worth around £1,500 each.

A man was arrested for handling stolen goods and is currently on police bail.
