Chiswick care home resident Leslie Maynard has appeared in court this week accused of murdering fellow resident Roy Barber.

Maynard is alleged to have stabbed 62 year old Barber to death as he sat in his favourite chair in front of the TV at the Together care home on Barrowgate Road back in February 2006.

A murder investigation was launched after Mr Barber was found found suffering from multiple stab wounds. Leslie Maynard was arrested on suspicion of the murder at the scene and later charged.

The court heard how 55 year old Maynard "strolled" up to police officers at the time and told them he had found the body, he also branded the victim an "old woman".

The trial continues.
