A local woman brought a new style of self defence to the streets of Chiswick after bravely fending off three muggers with her food shopping.

The incident happened on Thursday 25th October as the 29 year old made her way home along the High Road from Sainsbury’s Local.

As she approached Homefield Road, she noticed three hooded teenagers loitering on mountain bikes and when she turned into the road, two of the teenagers cycled past her on the pavement and the third attempted to snatch her handbag from behind.

The victim held onto to her handbag and began to hit one the teenagers with the bag containing her shopping. The teenager continued to grab at her handbag and pulled her to the floor however, the woman managed to keep a tight hold of it even though she was being dragged along the pavement.

The teenagers made off empty handed on their bikes along Homefield Road.

The three male suspects were described as black, aged around 18 and wearing dark hooded tops. One of the bikes was silver.
