Man has watch wrestled from his wrist by teenagers

The Police in Chiswick

A man had his watch stolen from his wrist as he was trying to get into his front door.

The victim, a 61-year-old male, told police that two white males had come up to him while he was trying to get into his front door just before middnight on Friday 7th March.

The suspects said, "Give us your watch" then proceeded to forcibly remove it from the victim’s left wrist.

The victim put up resistance and a struggle ensued but the two suspects managed to get the watch from his wrist leaving cut marks before they ran off towards Priory Avenue.

Both of the suspects are described as white males, aged 18 years old, wearing dark hooded tops and dark combat style trousers.

DI Jeff Minns said “This is a worrying incident, the method of which I first came across many years ago in Nottinghill and Kensington area. Victims were followed home, having been shopping and robbed as they got to their front door. The main thing is for people to be aware of their surroundings, consider changing your route and be vigilant. Thankfully it doesn’t happen a lot here and I do not want it to develop. Any information or witnesses, please call Hounslow Police”

Anyone witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Hounslow CID in confidence on 0208 247 6160/5940 or Crime Stoppers 0800 5551111 anonymously quoting crime reference number 0505644/08.
