Woman Robbed In A4 Underpass

Police hope images from new CCTV camera will hold clue to culprit

Police are hoping that this CCTV image (right) of the suspect in the A4 underpass mugging will lead to his indentification.

The footage was taken by the camera recently installed in the subway the financial backing of Fuller’s Brewery just before the incident on Sunday 30th March at 19.00 when the 20 year old female victim entered the subway which runs underneath A4 from Chiswick Lane South just east of the brewery to Chiswick Lane.

As she checked the mirror situated on the far right, she noticed a person standing around the corner on the slope that exits the subway on the North Side of A4 towards Hammersmith.

She was about to turn right when the suspect grabbed her shoulders and forced her to the ground on her knees. The suspect then grabbed her handbag and made off on a bicycle.
The suspect is described as a 22 year old Asian male, 5’11”, slim build with short dark brown hair, wearing a cap, dark green sweatshirt with 'FILA' in large white writing, grey jogging bottoms and brown trainers.
