A 75 year old woman was left with nasty injuries after being mugged on Corney Road last Sunday.

The incident happened at 18.45 when the victim was walking towards the roundabout at the bottom of the road along the pavement next to the graveyard.

As she did so, a male approached her from behind on foot and snatched her handbag from her right hand.

The suspect ran past her towards the roundabout where he got onto a bicycle which was laying a few feet further down the road and cycled away along Pumping Station Road.

The victim’s bag contained books, travel documents and £15 cash

She described the suspect as being a white male aged around 20 years old, with broad shoulders wearing a white t-shirt, blue denim jeans and closely shaved blond hair.
