A security van delivering cash to Nat West Bank was involved in a robbery this morning, Tuesday 31st March. The incident happened at approximately 11.00am.

A spokesperson for the Police told ChiswickW4.com, "Police are investigating a robbery this morning where a cash box was snatched from a security guard inside the Nat West Bank on Chiswick High Road. Although shaken, the guard was unhurt.

"There were believed to be two suspects, both male and wearing reflective jackets. They managed to snatch the box, containing an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the bank and running off in the direction of Dolman Road, where they are believed to have got into a vehicle."

He continued, "The incident is being investigated by the Flying Squad and we would encourage anyone who saw the incident, or who has any information to ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You can leave information anonymously and you could receive a reward.

Nat West Bank will remain closed for the rest of the day while Police carry out forensic examinations.
