A series of armed robbies on mobile phone stores have netted a gang over 200 handsets, laptops and cash.

A west London police unit is currently investigating three robberies in Orange and Carphone Warehouse outlets including a store on Chiswick High Road.

According to Police reports, Chiswick's Orange store was robbed on March 27 as store staff were pulling down the shutters to close the store.

Two masked men entered the store brandishing a firearm and assaulted staff before making off with around 60 handsets, two laptops and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Chiswick raid was followed by one in Kilburn and one on the Carphone Warehouse store in Barnes where four men with a knife seized 66 handsets before escaping in two vehicles.

Police said whilst they did not believe the crimes were linked, they warned store staff to remain vigilant.
