Police have released the name of an 18 year boy charged in connection with the attack on a teenage girl in Paxton Road at the weekend.

Sebastian Mateza of Burlington Lane has been charged with GBH with intent, and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and violence.

Police were called at 00.51 on Saturday the 5th September to reports of a female being assaulted at the junction of Burlington Lane and Paxton Road.

Officers discovered a 16-year-old girl with a wound to the stomach which was initially believed to have been made by a knife. However, after the victim arrived at hospital, it was discovered that the wound had not been made by a knife. Police believe that it could have been made by a type of gun but one that doesn't "proper bullets".

The victim remains in hospital where she is awaiting surgery which is hoped to reveal what weapon was used during the attack. Her condition is described as stable.

Five males aged from 17 to 20 years were arrested and subsequently bailed to return on a date in October pending further enquiries.

Mateza is set to appear in Feltham Magistrates Court 10th September.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information for the inquiry is asked to call Hounslow police on 020 8247 6160 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
