Local Police have launched a witness appeal after a civil enforcement officer (parking warden) was assaulted on Devonshire Road.

The incident happened on Friday 1st October 2010 around 1:40pm. The 30 year old male as carrying out his duties in Devonshire Road.

During an exchange with the driver of a black VW Golf, which had stopped outside the Whisk store, the officer was assaulted .

The driver got into his car and drove off after a passer-by intervened.

The suspect is described as male, white, about 25 years old, short dark hair.

The officer was taken into Whisk where he was looked after until an ambulance arrived at the scene.
