Former Chiswick care home resident Leslie Maynard has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 10 years for killing his fellow resident.

58 year old Maynard was found guilty of stabbing 62 year old Roy Barber to death as he sat in his favourite chair in front of the TV at the Together Care Home on Barrowgate Road back in February 2006.

Maynard was initially convicted of murder but his sentence has now changed after this conviction was reduced to manslaughter.

The court heard how Maynard "strolled" up to police officers at the time and told them he had found the body, he also branded the victim an "old woman".
