Chiswick Fire Station Watch Manager Patrick Flynn, gave a moving thank you to everyone who had supported the service through the difficult time after the death of Thomas Ossel, a firefighter based in Chiswick who was killed in Venezuela in July, protecting his brother from a gang raid.

Mr Flynn stated that "Firstly I would again like to thank everyone on behalf of Tom's family and friends, for all of the kind messages of condolences and support that they have received from you all at this sad time. This has come as a great comfort to Tom's parents, family and friends"

"I again would like to thank everyone for their kind messages of condolences and support to myself and my watch which has helped us deal with the grieving process of our loss."

"We at Chiswick, have opened up a memorial fund in memory of Tom and this is now up and running. This memorial fund will be used to provide a permanent memorial to Tom at Chiswick Fire Station at a later date and any funds that are left over will be given to Tom's parents."
