A major police incident took place on a quiet residential street in Chiswick last Wednesday.

Police raided a property in Fielding Road at around 4 pm. At least seven police vehicles were believed to have been on scene, including armed response officers.

Eye-witnesses reported that armed officers advanced into the property behind a protective shield.

Residents were told to stay in their homes while the operation was underway, according to one local.

The road was cordoned off for a time during the police operation but later reopened.

It is not yet known whether arrests were made or anything was taken by police from the house.

Police said today that they had responded to an incident in Fielding Road.

"For operational reasons we are not prepared to discuss further", said a police spokesperson.

They have refused to confirm or deny whether the raid might be drugs or terrorism related.
