A police appeal has been made to help track down a man suspected of pursuading a vulnerable woman to hand over hundreds of pounds to him.

The appeal was made on the BBC programme Crimewatch, and CCTV has been released of the man talking to the woman while walking in the Strand on the Green area of Chiswick.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Monday April 10th at around 1 pm when the suspect approached the woman, who is aged around 50, in the Hearne Road area of Strand on the Green.

The police said he told the woman he was owed £25 for work he carried out for a member of her family.

"Shortly after the suspect approached the victim again on the Strand on the Green where he asked for a further £200.

"Not having this amount of money to hand the suspect went with the victim to a cash point dispenser on London Road where she withdrew the money and handed it over."
