Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault on a woman near Chiswick Bridge.

The attack took place shortly before 6.30pm on Tuesday 1 August on the towpath on the south side of the river between the bridge and Putney Town Rowing Club.

As the victim was walking along the towpath, the suspect has walked towards her and grabbed her. He has then made off in the direction of Chiswick Bridge. The woman was not injured.

Following this incident, Kew Safer Neighbourhood Team have conducted extra patrols along the towpath and will continue to do so.

Officers are appealing for information that could lead them to the attacker, described as a black man; 5' 10" in height; slim; short dark hair; wearing a black Adidas tracksuit top and bottoms.
