The Royal Mail has confirmed that there have thefts of mail in Chiswick recently.

Local residents reported thefts of mail from a number of Chiswick streets. The streets affected reportedly include Devonshire Road, Gordon Road, Wolseley Gardens and St Mary's Grove but this could not be officially confirmed.

In answer to a query, a Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Royal Mail can confirm that two mail thefts have taken place recently in the Chiswick area. One incident involved a locked Royal Mail van, while the other involved a locked High Capacity Trolley.

“Royal Mail and the police are continuing to investigate this matter. We would urge anyone with information to contact the police. The safety and security of mail is of the utmost importance to our business. Anyone concerned about their mail can contact Royal Mail Customer Services on 03457 740740.”
