'Dramatic' Arrest of Man Linked to Series of Robberies in W4

Plain clothes officers swoop on suspect on The Avenue

Officers from the local Southfield Ward neighbourhood team have joined up with specialist plain clothes police to arrest a man wanted in connection with a string of robberies in Chiswick. The police have described the circumstances of the man's detention as 'dramatic'.

On 3 November the suspect was approached on The Avenue but made an attempt to escape on a bike. He was chased and detained by officers in Q cars, which are undercover units with blue lights and sirens.

PC Aga Piatek, of the local team, played a major part in the restraint and arrest of the man.
