Cotswold Outdoor, the outdoor wear shop, has been targeted by thieves at least four times over the past few weeks.

This Saturday (30 December) the front glass was smashed by a raider who stole a number of items. Police are investigating.

In a previous raid, a gang of eight on mopeds smashed through and ransacked the shop. There has been a citywide increase in moped crime recently.

It is believed there have been two other incidents of break-ins at the shop, which opened on Chiswick High Road in 2015.

It is unclear why the thieves are targeting the outdoor wear shop but they appear to know exactly what they want to take.

The incidents did not affect the shop staying open for business.

Cotswold sells over 70,000 different items of outdoor kit from insulated jackets, walking boots, rucksacks, and equipment such as watches and compasses.

The first store opened in 1974 in Cirencester and has expanded to dozens of stores across the UK as well as online shopping.
