Scenes of jubilation following England's World Cup victory against Colombia turned to bad temper last Tuesday night (3 July) when a fight broke out on Chiswick High Road.

Police were called to what was described as "a fracas" on the street outside HSBC and opposite the Old Packhorse at around 12.30am.

It is believed that customers of the pub became drawn into an altercation which also involved an individual who is currently not allowed into that pub.

Two men aged in their thirties were taken to hospital with assault injuries but were not believed to be seriously hurt.

The area was cordoned off as a crime scene until Wednesday morning as a police investigation was mounted.

Police said that no arrests were made.
