A local resident who had some bags stolen from a parked car at the weekend has appealed for people to get in touch if they find a grey rucksack or a small blue suitcase left lying around.

The incident happened between 7pm and 8.30pm Sunday night. Their parked 4x4 car was on Heathfield Terrace parked in the spaces between the Town Hall and the post office. All the bags were in the boot of the car which was locked, and the boot had a retractable cover keeping items from view.

The car was broken into and a small navy blue suitcase (cabin bag with wheels and a retractable handle) was taken as well as a grey rucksack. The bag is similar to this one below.

She says that they observed some people on a scooter just before 7pm driving recklessly around the high road, jumping off with a flashlight and looking into cars. The day after the theft she noticed a lot of broken glass around the area where the car was parked.

They have reported the incident to the police.
