Chiswick Family Practice, a doctors’ surgery on Southfield Road, has informed patients of its intention to move the new premises in Acton over the next few months.

The practice, which includes Dr V Bhatt, Dr J Szyszko, Dr E lister and Dr P Vella, is not able to give a precise date for the move but it is likely to occur at the beginning of next year. Patients will be contacted with more details when they become available.

In a statement about the move the practice says, “Our current building is much older and smaller in comparison to the new facilities which will provide 551sqm of space and will benefit our patients with additional clinical rooms, enhanced procedure rooms, a wheelchair accessible reception and waiting area. Working in a more modern building with enhanced technology – with easy access to transport – is also being welcomed by staff.”

It is added that the new building’s location offers enhanced disabled access and easy access by bus or tube.

The premises, which occupy two floors of the building, will also provide the practice with training facilities and patient consultation groups should also have the opportunity to meet more easily.

The new location is part of the Acton Gardens development on Bollo Bridge Road, 0.7 miles from the current location on the corner of Strauss Road and Southfield Road.

The Bedford Park Surgery on South Parade remains open despite planning permission being obtained in March 2020 to convert the building into flats. At the time the application was made it was stated by the NHS that the local Clinical Commissioning Group was intending to encourage smaller local practices to relocate to a new East Ealing Hub to provide a wider range of integrated primary care services as part of their longer term strategy.

Chiswick Family Practice should not be confused with Chiswick Family Doctors Practice which is based in the Medical Centre on Dolman Road.
