A fire broke out on Chiswick High Road on Tuesday 3rd November at around 2.30pm.

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to the fire in the four storey building which incorporates Zizzi's Restaurant and residential flats above.

The fire damaged approximately half of the ground floor store room and around 30 per cent of ducting from the ground to the fourth floors.

Crews from Chiswick and Richmond fire stations took just over four hours to control the blaze.

Chiswick High Road was closed for a number of hours between Turnham Green Terrace and Heathfield Terrace and buses were diverted via Goldhawk Road, Bath Road and South Parade.

Although there were a number of ambulances at the scene, there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
