Two women have been taken to hospital following a fire in Chiswick this morning (Friday 8th June).

Five people escaped the blaze in a flat on Upham Park Road.

The three adults and two children managed to get out of the building before the Fire Brigade arrived and two of the women were suffering from smoke inhalation and burns. The fire damaged part of the five roomed flat.

The Brigade was called at 10.00am and the fire was under control by 10.44am. Two fire engines and around ten firefighters from Hammersmith and Chiswick fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
