The body of a man has been found following a fire in a block of flats in Acton.

London Fire Brigade were called to deal with a serious blaze in Acton Thursday afternoon (6 August). Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers attended the fire in a flat on Bollo Bridge Road.

The fire damaged a split level flat on the ninth and tenth floors of the 13 storey block. Fire fighters found the body of a man on the tenth floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from London Ambulance Service.

The Brigade was called at 2.20pm and the fire was under control by 4.08pm.

Crews from Acton, Willesden, Park Royal, Hammersmith, Chiswick, Heston, Northolt and Richmond fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
