Around sixty fire fighters attend blaze on corner of Ramillies Road

The roof and the first floor of a house on the corner of Bedford Road and Ramillies Road has caught fire this Monday morning (19 July).
London Fire Brigade sent eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters and deployed an aerial appliance to tackle the blaze at the three storey detached house.
Over half the roof caught fire shortly before 10.13am and the smell of smoke was present several streets away. The fire was under control by 2.37pm. There were no reports of any injuries.
Ramillies Road was closed near the vicinity of the fire and at the junction with Bedford Road.
Fire crews from Chiswick, Acton, Hammersmith, Richmond, Kensington and other surrounding fire stations were at the scene.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said, "Smoke alarms fitted inside the property alerted the resident to the fire, who saw smoke coming from a cupboard in the bathroom on investigation.
"Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from beneath the tiles of the roof and cut away parts of the walls to access the fire and bring it under control."

The Brigade's Fire Investigators believe the fire was accidental and caused by an electric hot air gun.
