A new after school club for 11 to 14 year olds has opened at Dukes Meadows Community Centre. The club is supervised by experienced staff and offers a wide range of activities including a quiet area should the children wish to sit and do their homework. A light snack is also provided.

With the winter nights drawing in, some parents might like their child to take part in activities and socialise with other young people in a safe and secure environment until they arrive home from work.

The facilities include a café style chill out area and a games Room with snooker tables as well as the study area. Those attending the club can improve their IT skills, listen to music or just make new friends over a game of snooker or table tennis.

The club is open Monday to Friday from 3.15 p.m to 6.00 p.m (term time only). The service is provided at a reduced cost of £2.50 per session. The sessions are held at the Dukes Meadows Community Centre, Alexandra Gardens.

The provision is managed by Dukes Meadows Community Association with support from the Family and Community Team.
