Fuller's, the only remaining family brewery in London, has fought off tough competition from major beer companies and small craft brewers across the UK to be named Brewery of the Year by the Good Pub Guide 2014.

The Chiswick-based brewery has earned the coveted title by brewing much-loved favourites London Pride, ESB, Chiswick Bitter and 1845 among many others.

The Good Pub Guide describes Fuller's beers as 'top-notch' and notes that the company's pubs are well worth a visit too. It states: "Fuller's is still very much a family-run company, and has combined traditional virtues with a go-ahead attitude to modern conditions. Their beers are top-notch. One in twelve good pubs now stocks at least one of these."

From vibrant city pubs ideal for an after-word drink to comforting hotels, outstanding country Inns and gastropubs serving fantastic local food, Fuller's run almost 400 pubs and hotels across London and the South West. Firm favourites among Londoners include The Lamb and Flag in Covent Garden, The Parcel Yard in Kings Cross Station, The Old Bank of England on Fleet Street and The Churchill Arms in Kensington (pictured below).

Fuller's Chief Executive, Simon Emeny said: "We are hugely proud to receive this fantastic award. The accolade is particularly important to us because it reflects the opinion of our valued customers who consistently support us. We will all be celebrating with a pint of Pride this evening!"

Fuller's is an independent traditional family brewer founded in 1845 and remains on its original site at the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, London.
