Nobel Prizewinning scientist Professor Peter Higgs has been presented with a special gift of his favourite Chiswick-brewed beer.

Fuller’s, the family-based brewery, presented the world-famous scientist with 600 personalised bottles of London Pride.

The celebrations took place at the opening of the Professor Higgs’ Collider exhibition at the London Science Museum.

Fuller’s adapted the iconic London Pride label to feature a special note to the Professor in celebration of his achievement and to commemorate the opening of the new Collider Exhibition, following his declaration that London Pride is his favourite beer during a press conference last month.

Collider is a new temporary exhibition at the London Science Museum that will transport visitors to the heart of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, one of the greatest endeavours of our times.

Professor Higgs, who created the exhibition and won the Nobel Prize for his contribution to physics last month. He commented: “I’m thrilled as London Pride is my favourite beer and it’s so wonderful to receive my own special edition bottle!”

Richard Fuller, Director at Fuller’s said: “We were delighted when Professor Higgs announced that London Pride is his favourite beer so we couldn’t help surprising him at his celebrations for this outstanding award.

“We also sent a selection of London Pride goodies for the professor to enjoy, along with an invitation to the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, to see how his favourite London Pride is made and to share with him some of our other delicious beers.”
