Turnham Green Terrace Redevelopment

Residents Appeal For A Discerning New Design For The ‘Ugly’ Gable House

Gable House, situated at 18-28 Turnham Green Terrace, as been the focus of no less than four failed planning applications over the last three years. On Wednesday 28th May, its proposed redevelopment will rear its, so far unattractive, head again at the Chiswick Area Planning Meeting.

Residents of the surrounding roads are appealing to the developers yet again for an architecturally sympathetic restoration or redevelopment that would be in keeping with the area in which it’s located.

The latest planning application is for developers to change its use from offices to residential with the addition of a further storey. The residents who live within sight of this building are earnestly requesting that the Planning Committee look at this application afresh and take into account the other buildings surrounding it.

A resident of Elliot Road told us “We are all extremely tired of fighting this battle. We need a sympathetic design solution to this building, which will enhance the area and its surrounds.”

The Chiswick Area Committee Planning meeting will be held in the Hogarth Room of Chiswick Town Hall on Wednesday 28th May.
