CHARITY WALK RESOUNDING SUCCESS

 

Over 200 participants turned up for the walk in memory of Chiswick Librarian Nigel Piggott making it a resounding success. So far the event, which was organised by Nigel's wife Claudine, has raised over £4000 for the British Heart Foundation with much of the sponsorship money yet to be collected. The participants were from a wide range of organisations including many local companies: Gillette, Isleworth Recreation Centre, W H Smith, Tesco, Anderson, Carillion, JC Decaux etc. Walkers came from far and wide including Derbyshire, Bath, Hants, and Berkshire.

An auction was held with gift donations from Bill Wyman, Richard Briers, Marie Claire Magazine, LA Fitness. The event generated massive publicity for the charity with over 30 articles published and widespread coverage on TV and radio.
