Ealing Council is proposing to cut down on public car parking and put two taxi ranks in Gunnersbury Lane and Acton Lane.

The general effect of the Cab Ranks Order would be to prohibit any vehicle other than a taxi from stopping on the areas marked as a taxi rank in:

Acton Lane W4, first two of the stop and shop bays after the loading place by Chiswick Park station between 6pm and 9am daily;

Gunnersbury Lane W3, in the loading bay situated south of Acton Town station between 5pm and 9am daily.

That means two out of the four current spaces (as shown above) would be lost to the public.

Any objections or other representations about the proposed Order should be sent in writing by e-mail to Highwayservices@ealing.gov.uk or by post to the Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, W5 2SR.

The proposal is not likely to be popular with nearby shops as it means less parking for customers.
