An appeal has been lodged against the refusal to grant planning permission to demolish 309-317 Chiswick High Road and erect a five-storey building with residential units.

Persian restaurant Rice, along with Catch, and other businesses such as Domino's, are in the small parade of shops along Chiswick High Road.

The parade recently lost Yupa's Thai, which moved to Grove Park, but the other businesses remain open.

DTZ Investment Management has stated that it intends to appeal the refusal. An informal hearing into the appeal will be held at a date to be decided by the Planning Inspectorate.

The application was to demolish 309-317 Chiswick High Road and erect a five-storey building with residential units.

The building was to provide 21 units, six one-bedroom, thirteen two-bedroom and two three-bedroom units. Commercial space and a basement car-park were also planned.
