The Shelter housing charity has applied to turn a vacant property in Elliott Road into nine single occupancy units.

A planning application has been submitted for a Change of use from Guest House (Class C1) to accommodation for up to nine young adults in housing need and caretaker accommodation (Sui Generis).

The guest house has been vacant since 2016 and its owner has now died.

The application pertains to number 62 and 62A Elliott Road.

The works would involve retaining the facade to 62 Elliott Road, and reconstruction of the property with external works including part two storey side extension, rear dormer roof extension, raised ridge height from flat roof.

The also plan the demolition and reconstruction of 62A Elliott Road with external works including a hip-to-gable extension, single storey front extension, installation of screening to the existing roof terrace, installation of roof lights to both properties and replacement boundary treatments and associated cycle parking.

Hounslow council has been engaged in pre-planning talks and has supported the proposed
change of use and extensions in principle, subject to the provision of additional information relating to the proposed use and several design changes.

The use would comprise 9 single occupancy rooms with en suite facilities. The property would also include separate accommodation for the landlord that would provide an additional 4 bed spaces. The units will be rented from 1 month (minimum) up to 2 years (maximum).
