The owner of the kayak found on the Thames last week has been reunited with his vessel.

The local resident told ChiswickW4.com. "The kayak disappeared on Friday, I assume that someone was trying to have a bit of fun in it and failed! Anyway, happy to have it back now."

He went onto the thank Chiswick Lifeboat crew who found the upturned kayak drifting on the river last Friday afternoon.

They searched up and down stream but no one was discovered.

Chiswick RNLI Lifeboat Station Manager Wayne Bellamy said “We were anxious to find the owner of the canoe, as in this case it was in very good condition, unlike other drifting craft, which have usually been abandoned”.
