National Grid will be commencing gas mains replacement works at the Acton Lane junction with Chiswick High Road from the 24th July.

The works are expected to last six weeks and will be carried out in two phases as follows:

Phase 1: Sutton Lane North (Northbound Closure) - 24th July to 7th August 2010 (2 Weeks). Due to the location of the works it will be necessary to close Sutton Lane North northbound between the access into the Arlington Park Mansions and the junction with Chiswick High Road.

Northbound traffic will be diverted via Heathfield Terrace to Chiswick High Road.

Phase 2: Acton Lane (Southbound Closure) - 8th August to 5th September 2010 (4 Weeks). Again due to the location of the works it will be necessary to close Acton Lane southbound between its junctions with Bollo Lane and Essex Place.

Southbound traffic approaching Acton Lane from Bollo lane will be diverted via Acton Lane, South Parade, Turnham Green Terrace, Chiswick High Road to Acton Lane. Southbound traffic approaching Acton Lane from Acton Lane (east) will be diverted via Bollo Lane, Gunnersbury Avenue (A406), Chiswick High Road, to Acton Lane.

The works have been programmed for the school holidays to minimise the impact on traffic flow and National Grid will aim to have all works completed by Sunday 5th September at the latest.

Should you have any complaints during the delivery of these works please contact the National Grid customer care line on 0800 096 5678.
