Locals in Thornton Avenue are perplexed about the appearance of what one described as "an eyesore" of a large metal locked enclosure containing large rubbish bins.

"This seems to have been permanently added to the end of roadway Thornton Avenue where it meets Turnham Green Terrace without any consolation with the residents,"said one local.

"This enclosure and the bins present a safety hazard as it blocks the keep clear zone which means that vehicles which go to the dead end are unable to turn around and now have to reverse down the length of the road increasing the risk of possible incidents occurring."

The sudden appearance of the bins, which are labelled as property of Transport for London (TfL), have led to a number of complaints to chiswickw4.com. We have asked TfL about the matter and will report back.

The bins appear to be bolted to the road over a Keep Clear sign.
