An even greater level of congestion is anticipated on Chiswick High Road due to a closure this Sunday (27 September).

The road needs to be closed eastbound only from Turnham Green Terrace to 94-98 Chiswick High Road just past Chiswick Lane to allow a crane to remove the portacabins at the cinema construction site.

According to a spokesperson for The Chiswick Cinema, the road will need to be shut for up to four hours from 7.30am to 11.30am.

When the portacabins were originally installed the road was also closed but the work took less than four hours.

Buses are to divert as follows:

Route 190 towards West Brompton

At Junction Chiswick Lane & Chiswick High Road, left Chiswick High Road, right Turnham Green Terrace, right Bath Road, ahead Stamford Brook Road, ahead Goldhawk Road, right Paddenswick Road and left Glenthorne Road to line of route

Route 237 towards White City

From Chiswick High Road at Turnham Green Terrace will be diverted left Turnham Green Terrace, right Bath Road, ahead Stamford Brook Road and ahead Goldhawk Road to line of route

Routes 267, 391 and H91 towards Hammersmith

From Chiswick High Road at Turnham Green Terrace will be diverted left Turnham Green Terrace, right Bath Road, ahead Stamford Brook Road, ahead Goldhawk Road, right Paddenswick Road and left Glenthorne Road to line of route.

There may also be delays on the E3.

We have asked Hounslow Council about the proposed diversion routes but have not received a response. Motor vehicles other than buses are currently not allowed to access Turnham Green Terrace.
