A number of overnight road closures in the Chiswick area have been scheduled to take place this week to allow further work on Cycleway 9.

Improvements are being made to junctions along the High Road on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 March. Some roads adjoining the High Road will have their junctions with the High Road closed from 8pm to 6am the following morning.

Access to premises will be maintained, but some one-way streets will become temporarily two-way, whilst the work is in progress.

The work, which is being carried out by Hounslow Highways, is part of the Cycleway C9 project between Chiswick Lane and Heathfield Terrace. It involves laying high-friction (anti-skid) surfaces where the cycle track crosses side roads, and on the eastbound approach to the Heathfield Terrace junction. This work couldn’t be carried out any earlier because the new macadam surface needs some time to settle in before the overlay material is applied.

On Wednesday Brackley Road will be closed at the High Road and will be made two-way temporarily along with Swanscombe Road. Traffic will be diverted via Devonshire Road and Annandale Road.

The entrance to Linden Gardens will also be closed with access via the car park at Old Market Place and Linden Gardens becoming temporarily two-way.

On Thursday Cranbrook Road will close at the High Road with access via Chiswick Lane and the road being made two-way.

Devonshire Road will close and be made two-way with access via Brackley Road and Swanscombe Road.

Duke Road will be shut at the High Road with access via Bourne Place which is being made two-way.

The exit to Linden Gardens will be closed with access via the normal exit and the Old Market Place car park which will be made two-way.

Work will be taking place at the junction with Heathfield Terrace but a three-way signal system will operate at the junction.
