Arts Ed students, who only finished either their three year BA (Hons) Acting for Film and Television, or the BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre last week, are already finding that they are gainfully employed in many professional roles both on stage and television.

With a long list of alumni currently starring in every major West End Show the new recruits will be working alongside alumni Nigel Harman in Shrek! (pictured right), and joining productions including: Ghost, Les Misérables and Parade.

In the regions graduates have joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, West Yorkshire Playhouse in King Lear and Chichester’s Singin’ In The Rain, which also stars two alumni in the lead roles, Adam Cooper and Scarlett Strallen, and choreographed by ex-ArtsEd Andrew Wright. More start performing in national tours of: Top Hat (starring alumni Summer Strallen), Legally Blonde, Evita, Sister Act, Dreamboats & Petticoats, Hair and Dirty Dancing.

Television screens will also be seeing a lot of ArtsEd graduates over the next few months, with Madeleine Mantock joining as new Casualty regular, the terrified ingénue nurse Scarlett when it returns next month, and Mitchell Hunt joins EastEnders. Steven Roberts is joining Hollyoaks and will be working alongside two other recent ArtsEd graduates, another new character to be played by new face Tamaryn Payne and series regular Danny Mac.

Not to mention the three young leads in the soon to open West End musical, Rock of Ages, Oliver Tompsett, Amy Pemberton and Simon Lipkin - all recent graduates of ArtsEd.......and watch out for alumni Laura Haddock in the Inbetweeners movie.

All the graduates, from both courses, will be returning to ArtsEd on Friday 9 September to attend their Graduation Ceremony, to be attended by new Patrons choreographer Gillian Lynne CBE and actor Robert Lindsay.

A very talented group of young professionals.
