Chiswick School is appealing to local businesses to offer placements in June to its Year 12 students.

The dates in question are June 25th and June 29th, and the students, who are aged 16 and 17, will be looking for placements for 2,3,4,or five days of work experience.

The school says the students do not necessarily have the contacts to organise the valuable work-experience for themselves.

The Assistant Headteacher, Matthew Sadler said the media had recently highlighted how a lack of contacts can be a limiting factor to social mobility.

“If we can work together to support these students we will be moving closer to achieving equality of opportunity” he said.

Ideally the school would like to build up a bank of contacts in a variety of businesses, ranging from banks, to architecture or retail. Any support from local businesses would be hugely appreciated he said.

Mr. Sadler can be contacted via the school at ; 020 8747 6626, or by writing to Chiswick School, Burlington Lane, Chiswick W4 3UN
